The program is for those interested in a year of intensive beginner&rsquo;s training in Jewish texts and observance. It also serves as a one-year preparatory program for those who wish to pursue semikhah. The <em>Mekhinah<\/em> Program is for both men and women, and can be on either a full-time or part-time basis. Acceptance is contingent upon completion of a written application and consent of the Dean.<\/p>\n<p>The program has classes in <em>Tanakh<\/em> and <em>Midrash<\/em>, <em>Talmud<\/em>, <em>Halakhah<\/em> and Hebrew language, with the emphasis on developing skills in reading and understanding classical Hebrew texts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This year-long program involves in-depth study of classical Jewish texts.
