The UTJ is an organization of people brought together by their commitment to studying Torah and applying halakhah (Jewish law) with genuine faith and intellectual integrity.
We celebrate that our membership is composed of people of diverse political and even religious views. While we believe that our Torah’s values have much to say about politics and policy, we also recognize that people of conscience can draw different conclusions about how to apply Torah values to any given circumstance.
As such, our comments on current events are limited to recognizing the gravity of the given situation and expressing thoughts on related Jewish values while deliberately avoiding any particular political or policy conclusion.
