Rabbi Philip Scheim was designated Rabbi Emeritus of Beth David Congregation in Toronto Canada in August 2021, after having completed forty years of service as spiritual leader of the congregation. Rabbi Scheim was a Vice-President of the U.T.J. in its formative years. He has served on the Boards of numerous charitable organizations in Canada and Israel, on the Va’ad HaPoel of the WZO, the Board of Governors of the Jewish Agency, and as a delegate to World Zionist Congress gatherings for over two decades. He is a past President of the International Rabbinical Assembly.
