Presentation to Morashah conference (August, 2013) marking a thousand years since the birth of the Jewish legal authority whose assumptions and approach have had the most influence on the way Halakhah (Jewish Law) has been decided in the past millennium. Recent research has demonstrated that some of those key assumptions are false, requiring reformulation.
